The Austrian festival season ended on a high note when a sold-out FM4 Frequency attracted 140,000 fans across three days.

It also marked the end of a good summer for the festival partnership of Ewald Tatar and Harry Jenner, who did good business with all their outdoor events.

Their major fests did particularly well. In Nickelsdorf June 14-16, Nova Rock did more than 50,000 per day.

The weather also helped Frequency as there were clear blue skies over the St. Polten site, where temperatures sat a little below 30c (85F).

“Everything went well and it was extremely relaxed for a sold-out festival,” Jenner told Pollstar.

The acts helping to relax proceedings in the Austrian countryside included System Of A DownDie Toten HosenTenacious DNick Cave & The Bad SeedsFranz Ferdinand, and Billy Talent.
