Icona Pop Postponements

That weeping sound you’ve been hearing all day comes from Icona Pop’s West Coast fans upon learning that the Swedish duo has postponed shows scheduled for tonight through Sept. 2. Life can be sooooo cruel.

Illness is the instigator of heartbreak this time.  Word from the group’s press rep is that Aino Jawo is under the weather and “has received strict orders from her doctor to rest.”

That means Icona Pop’s show scheduled for Los Angeles’ The Fonda tonight is not happening. Same goes for the Aug. 30 gig at San Francisco’s The Fillmore; an Aug. 31 appearance at Seattle’s and Sept. 2 in Vancouver, British Columbia, at Commodore Ballroom.  All shows are expected to be rescheduled, so hold on to those tickets.

“We cannot tell you how sad we are and how much these shows meant to us,” Caroline Hjelt posted on the group’s Facebook page. “Our fans are so important to us and we live to perform on stage for you each night.  We promise we’ll be back and will see you soon!  In the meantime, please send lots of love and good energy Aino’s way!”
