Rick Springfield Strips Down

This fall Rick Springfield embarks on a new journey – all on his own. After touring for more than 30 years, his first ever solo trek, dubbed “The Stripped Down Tour,” will feature tunes from his latest album, a few of his classic hits, some storytelling and a Q&A with fans.

For now, the intimate solo tour features major markets on the East Coast and stops in the Midwest including shows in Illinois, New York, Wisconsin, Michigan, Maryland, Virginia and Pennsylvania. More gigs throughout North America will be added in 2014.

“There are some old favorites songs that I’ve written that I have never had the chance to perform live mainly because they have never fit into our sets,” Springfield said. “I think my fans will be as excited to hear these songs live as I am to play them live. I’ve also added a Q&A section with this tour as a way to connect with my audience.”

Springfield’s most recent LP is 2012’s Songs For The End Of The World. Look out for the release of his first novel, “Magnificent Vibration,” in May 2014. That month he’ll also receive a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.
