It has 15 sessions to get through subjects including show promotion, ticketing, sponsorship, venue management, digital marketing, handling the artists, choosing the venues, marketing the shows, selling the tickets, fixing the production – staging, sound, lights, audio-visual; through to merchandising and fanclub management.
Live UK publisher and managing editor Steve Parker’s decision to cut the conference from two days to one – and the ticket price from £295 (plus VAT) to £135 (plus VAT) – has clearly paid off as registrations are double what they were at the same time last year.
The Summit has historically attracted between 250 and 300 people per day.
The seventh edition of the annual conference, which has “The Big Picture” as its strapline, will particularly focus on the festival business.
There shouldn’t be any shortage of panelists for the Fields Of Change festival panel, as the Association Of Independent Festivals holds its board meeting at The Summit.
Now in its fourth year, the monthly industry mag’s Live Music Business Awards (2013) will take place in the evening. The Live UK Summit and the awards bash are at London’s Radisson Blu Portman Hotel Oct. 17.
