Earl Sweatshirt Books Headline Dates

The forecast in October calls for sweatshirts. Why, yes, this is our cheesy way of saying that Earl Sweatshirt has announced dates for his first headlining tour in North America. The rapper is supporting his debut studio album, “Doris,” which was released last month on Columbia.

Doris earned great reviews from Vibe to The New York Times. Those tough critics at Pitchfork (which recently gave The Pixies’ new EP a lowly 1.1 rating) bestowed Doris with its “best new music” label and a score of 8.3.

“Even in the face of the newfound depth in Earl’s songwriting, Doris’ primary concern is his wordplay, which presents itself in thickets of rhymes so dense they can register as inscrutable on first listen,” Pitchfork writes.
