Awards Noize: Grammys, GMA Dove Awards
The Grammy publicity machine is gearing up for what it likes to call “music’s biggest night.” Unlike other award shows for the arts, the Grammys holds its own concert to announce nominations. As in past years, you’re going to see plenty of Grammy news between now and January when the gold-plated gramophone statuettes are handed out.
“The Grammy Nominations Concert Live!!” will take place Dec. 6 at Los Angeles’ Nokia Theatre L.A. Live and will be broadcast live (at least for the East Coast), on CBS that evening at 10 p.m. ET/PT. The 56th annual Grammy Awards is set for Jan. 26 at the Staples Center in Los Angeles and will air live on CBS.
Details on performers, presenters and ticket sales are forthcoming. Check out Grammy.com for more details.
The 44th annual GMA Dove Awards will honor the best in Christian music Oct. 15 at the Allen Arena on the campus of Lipscomb University in Nashville. With Amy Grant and Kirk Franklin as hosts, the evening’s entertainment will also include performances by Tamela Mann and TobyMac. Presenters include Dr. Bobby Jones, Jaci Velasquez, Lecrae, Isaac Carree and Pastor Rick Warren.
However, you will have to wait a few days to see the GMA Dove Awards in your living room. The show will air on UPN Oct. 21 at 8 p.m.
Tickets are available now. Visit DoveAwards.com for more information.
