Wind Injures 3 At Fair
Three people were injured and some stage equipment was damaged when a storm moved through the Oklahoma City Fairgrounds Sept. 17 during the Oklahoma State Fair.
A meteorologist for KOTV-TV said a microburst producing winds up to 60 mph hit the fairgrounds and damaged equipment at the Chickasaw Entertainment Stage, forcing cancellation of a Hawk Nelson concert.
The fair resumed once a lightning warning was lifted.

Three fairgoers were reportedly transported to local hospitals in good condition.
The injuries were not related to the scheduled concert.
State fair officials told KOTV they are assessing the damage across the rest of the park.
The winds demolished tents, and toppled trees and utility poles.
“The fair board [did] a good job evacuating people and getting them inside of buildings,” Maj. Jim Williams of the Oklahoma City Fire Department told the television station.
