Pepsi Center Tightens Security

Denver’s Pepsi Center is tightening security measures with the installation of permanent metal detectors and requiring patrons to undergo more thorough security checks, a new policy that began with the Colorado Avalanche NHL preseason opener Sept. 18.

Kroenke Sports & Entertainment President Jim Martin says the permanent magnatrometers will improve safety and increase efficiency at the 18,650-capacity arena, which is home to the Denver Nuggets and Colorado Avalanche pro sports teams.
