Another Hip-Hop Festival Cancels
It hasn’t been the best year for hip-hop concerts downunder.
Live Nation’s inaugural Movement canceled in April, Supafest postponed, Urban Vibe pulled the plug as audiences trooped into the venue, and visa problems saw Coolio’s tour axed 24 hours before.
Now Rap City announced Sept. 23 that the four-city tour in October was not happening.
Promoters cited “unforseen complications with scheduling that were beyond control.”
However, individual dates are to be announced for headliners Talib Kweli, Homeboy Sandman and Trademark Da Skydiver.
Rap City launched in 2010 with headliners DJ Premier of Gang Starr and Masta Ace, but canceled the year after.
It returned in 2012 with a bill topped by DOOM and Ghostface Killah.
