Colin Meloy On The West Coast

Listen up “people of the West! Grand legacy of westward expansion and the doctrine of manifest destiny! Sons and daughters of the Corps of Discovery! People of Cascadia and the Peoples’ Republic of California!” The DecemberistsColin Meloy is headed your way.

The frontman for the indie folk band has expanded his solo tour to include a handful of gigs on the East Coast, including a hometown show in Portland, Ore. The first leg of dates is slotted for the first half of November, followed by the second batch of shows in January. 

Meloy’s initial announcement told fans he would soon be releasing a new edition in his EP series called “Colin Meloy Sings.” He’s previously taken on tunes by Morrissey, Shirley Collins and Sam Cooke. Meloy hasn’t revealed the release date – or the featured artist yet.

Tickets for the new dates go on sale to the public Sept. 27.
