Barenaked Ladies In Canada

Barenaked Ladies say the guys have “some news that’ll make the beginning of hockey season in Canada irrelevant…” Before a fight breaks out between BNL fans and hockey aficionados, you should know that the band added “maybe” to that bold statement.

The big announcement is that the Canadian rock band has booked a round of dates in their home country, including stops in British Columbia, Alberta and Ontario.

The clothed gentlemen are touring in support of their 11th studio album, Grinning Streaks, which was released in June on Vanguard. Well, we’re pretty sure they’ll be clothed. We hear it gets chilly in the provinces.

Before hitting up their homeland, BNL has a fall U.S. tour to take of that begins Oct. 9 in Minneapolis. Plus, the band plays the U.K. and Ireland in late November and early December.

Here’s the itinerary for the Canadian tour, with support from Ladies of the Canyon:

Jan. 17 – Vancouver, British Columbia, Queen Elizabeth Theatre
Jan. 19 – Penticton, British Columbia, South Okanagan Events Centre
Jan. 20 – Edmonton, Alberta, Northern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Jan. 21 – Calgary, Alberta, Southern Alberta Jubilee Auditorium
Jan. 29 – Kitchener, Ontario, Centre In The Square
Jan. 30 – Kingston, Ontario, Rogers K-Rock Centre
Jan. 31 – Mississauga, Ontario, Living Arts Centre
Feb. 1 – Hamilton, Ontario, Hamilton Place Theatre
Feb. 3 – Oshawa, Ontario, General Motors Centre

The public onsale is Oct. 4. BNL says, “Tickets go on sale this Friday, so you have FOUR days to get paid, collect allowance, barter, etc. before scalpers eat away at them!”

If you’re part of the fan club, you’ll get first dibs on tickets thanks to the presale that starts Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. local time.
