White Buffalo’s Gotta Roam

Traveling with a full band, Jake Smith, AKA The White Buffalo, will be on the road for the next couple of months.  Touring in support of Shadows, Greys and Evil Ways, new additions include Canada, the Northeast and Pacific coast.

We begin with The White Buffalo’s latest release – his video for “Joe And Jolene” – which posted as an exclusive for Elmore Magazine earlier this week and is now on YouTube.  Hailing from Shadows, Greys and Evil Ways, the vid represents another page of the story about a young man who returns from serving his country during wartime to find more violence in his hometown. Earlier this year, Smith talked with Pollstar about the album.

“This is kind of the first time I decided, or it decided itself, that it would be this concept kind of narrative,” Smith told Pollstar

“Often the songs kind of write themselves or, at least show themselves … without my initial interruption.  I think, song-wise, it’s very common for me that a lot of the songs come out in a way … it’s not a very  conscious thing. …  [I’m] realizing what the good part of it is and then expanding upon it from there.  And then really kind of crafting it, which is a different set of skills.”

Along with touring and promoting his latest album, Smith will unveil his new craft beer, “The White Buffalo West Coast IPA” Oct. 11 while headlining the Fuh-CAN Beer and Guitars Festival at Denver’s Sculpture Park Oct. 11.
