Don Dorshimer Dies

Grand Rapids, Mich., club owner and promoter Don Dorshimer died Oct. 6. He was 56.

A cause of death was not known at press time.

Dorshimer owned and operated the 1,800-capacity Orbit Room since the 1980s and was considered a major contributor in building Grand Rapids’ concert scene.

He also booked concerts at other venues with Belkin Productions in the ’80s and ’90s, according to the Grand Rapids Press.
