The 33rd annual John Lennon Tribute will take place at New York’s Theatre Within Dec. 6.  Also appearing will be Toshi Reagon, Fab Faux’s Rich Pagano and a cappella group The Buffers.

The tribute was created by MAD Magazine senior editor Joe Raiola one year after Lennon was murdered outside his home at New York’s The Dakota co-op apartment building.

“John Lennon is loved around the world, but he holds a special place in the heart of New York,” said Raiola who will also appear on this special evening.

Tickets, including VIP packages, are still available. A portion of the proceeds will benefit Spirit Foundations, established by Lennon and Yoko Ono in 1978.   The organization serves as a vehicle for directing funds to various charities helping senior citizens, abused women and children and victims of terrorism and natural disasters.  Click here for more information.

In a related matter, an exhibition of Lennon’s drawings opened today to raise money for Citymeals-on-Wheels which helps New York’s homebound senior citizens.

Taking place at SoHo’s 72 Green Street galley, the exhibition is being presented by Yoko Ono and Bag One Arts Legacy Fine Arts & Productions.
