IATSE stagehands shut down the opening night performance at Carnegie Hall in NYC Oct. 2. The venue and the union stagehands are at odds over work at an educational center being built above the famed hall.
The strike apparently ended two days later after an agreement on a four-year contract.
The sides bickered over IATSE’s request to have union stagehands operate the new education wing of the New York venue.
The concert hall said the new deal includes “limited jurisdiction” at the hall for the union. The strike caused the cancellation of the opening-night performance by the Philadelphia Orchestra.
