Blackberry Smoke’s ‘Fire In The Hole’

Blackberry Smoke returns to the road in early 2014 with the “Fire In The Hole” tour.  Launching in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., the band will be spreading its patented brand of joy throughout the land before concluding in Spokane, Wash., in April.

Blackberry Smoke has plenty on its plate until 2013 exhales its last breath. The band’s Nov. concerts will air live on AXS TV.  Plus, the band has partnered with the cable channel to offer fans chances to win autographed vinyl copies of The Whippoorwill. Click here for more info.

Blackberry Smoke has lined up a great night for fans when the band plays its Atlanta hometown Nov. 29 at The Tabernacle.  Dubbed “The Blackberry Smoke Brothers And Sisters Holiday Homecoming Show,” the evening will also include performances by singer/songwriter Chris Knight and Levi Lowery along with special guests.  On that day the band will release a 12-inch vinyl split with Lynyrd Skynyrd in honor of Record Store Day.  Issued in 180-gram vinyl, the disc will include three live recordings from each band.

The group has also formed a partnership with Carhartt to create new made-in-America merchandise, specifically a beanie hat and jacket.  The merch deal signifies the latest in Blackberry Smoke’s campaign promoting American commerce by hiring American workers and using factories located in the U.S.A.

And in case you missed it, Blackberry Smoke’s rendition of the opening theme song for Cartoon Network/Adult Swim’s “Squidbillies” aired Sept. 29.

Blackberry Smoke recently spent a couple of days at Bob Weir’s Tri Studios in San Raphael, Calif., where the band covered a few songs by The Grateful Dead and The Band plus several of their own originals as part of the “Weir Here” video series.  You can watch the results right now by clicking here.
