More Arcade Fire & The Reflektors Gigs
Arcade Fire’s alter ego takes its name from the band’s upcoming fourth studio album and title song. Reflektor is due out Oct. 28 (Oct. 29 in the U.S.).
A few days before the album release, The Reflektors will take the stage Oct. 24 at the Little Haiti Cultural Center in Miami. A poster on the website for non-profit presenter Rhythm Foundation says formal attire or a costume is mandatory to get into the show.
Tickets go on sale Oct. 16 at 10 a.m. Eastern Time, according to this link.
Arcade Fire will help make up for The Killers backing out of its slot at The Bridge School Benefit. Both Arcade Fire and Jack Johnson have been added to the Oct. 26 lineup. The annual acoustic concert, which is organized by Neil Young and his wife Pegi, is set for Oct. 26-27 at the Shoreline Amphitheatre in Mountain View, Calif. Proceeds benefit the nonprofit Bridge School, which helps individuals with severe speech and physical impairments achieve full participation in their communities and pursue their goals and dreams.
The next Arcade Fire show isn’t exactly a regular ol’ date. For starters, the Oct. 29 Los Angeles show will take place at a secret location as part of “The Music Experiment,” presented by MTV Iggy and Intel. And to attend the gig, you’ll have to win tickets by getting creative. You’ll have to sign in through Facebook or Twitter at MusicExperiment.com for challenge instructions. For now, all we can tell you is that you’ll have to “make Reflektor art out of your old CDs.” The challenge ends Oct. 17. MusicExperiment.com is offering fans daily challenges to win VIP, backstage and general admission tickets for Arcade Fire’s gig as well as shows from Empire Of The Sun, Disclosure and more.
As for an update on Reflektors Brooklyn dates, as of this post time, there is no official update yet. Yesterday we noted that fan twitter account @ArcadeFiretube tweeted that the band’s management confirmed The Reflektors would play two shows in Brooklyn Oct. 18-19 at an undisclosed location. The fan twitter account wrote yesterday that the shows “will probably be at East Williamsburg art space on 299 Meserole St. No word on tickets yet.”
