Syracuse Cancels Musical Act For Hoops Madness
The rapper, famous for his hit single “Bugatti,” was scheduled to perform at the school’s basketball event on Friday night in the Carrier Dome. The university said in a release that it wanted “to ensure that Orange Madness is truly a family experience. We share concerns about the appropriateness of the act. “
Released earlier this year, “Bugatti” is about attaining success and having money but contains profanity.
Last year, the annual event ended 30 minutes early after a man was stabbed. The university’s decision to cut the party short came after several fights.
The school issued a statement afterward, saying steps would be taken to make sure safety was increased in the future.
