Armin Van Buuren Takes On The World

Things are about to get intense. Armin van Buuren has announced North American gigs for his “Armin Only: Intense” world tour. The Dutch trance producer/DJ has revealed dates and cities but you’ll have to wait to find out the venues.

Van Buuren is supporting his fifth studio album, Intense, which was released in May. Before he began putting out studio albums he launched his radio show “A State Of Trance” in 2001. The show now has more than 20 million weekly listeners in 26 countries.

The “Armin Only: Intense” tour begins with two sold-out shows in his home city of Amsterdam Nov. 15-16 at the Ziggo Dome.

“The basis of Armin Only will always be a DJ set,” Van Buuren said. “But to make things more interesting, I’m going to try and really make the live moments almost like you would witness them in a theatre! I can’t wait to bring this show to all the fans around the world.”

Here’s the plan, so far, for the North American portion of the trek:

April 11 – New York, N.Y.
April 17 – Chicago, Ill.
April 19 – Toronto, Ontario
May 3 – Vancouver, British Columbia
May 9 – Los Angeles, Calif.
May 16 – Monterrey, Mexico
May 17 – Mexico City, Mexico

Plus, we can tell you that he’ll be playing San Francisco sometime between the Toronto and Vancouver shows.

“Armin Only: Intense” also includes stops in Australia, South Africa and Russia. More international dates will be announced soon.

Tickets for select dates go on sale to the general public Oct. 28 at 10 a.m. local time.
