Drake & Future Make Nice?

Drake has reportedly worked out a squabble with Future, just in time for his “Would You Like A Tour” tour to kick off Friday. There were rumors of Future being dropped from the trek and a subsequent $1.5 million lawsuit after he criticized Drake’s new album to the press.

The troubles were caused by a remark about Nothing Was The Same, which was released in September. Future reportedly told Billboard, “Drake made an album that is full of hits but it doesn’t grab you. They’re not possessive; they don’t make you feel the way I do.”

Within hours of Billboard associate editor Erika Ramirez tweeting the quote, Future sent out a tweet of his own saying, “Respect to Billboard, disappointed on being misquoted..always love for my fam Drizzy Drake.”

Although the offending quote was supposedly removed from the story (but not Ramirez’s Twitter feed), New York Post reports that Drake was so upset about the diss that he demanded Future be fired as support for the tour.

According to its sources, the Post says that after firing Future, there was negotiations late last week to re-hire him, but things fell apart when Drake’s camp wanted Future to take a pay cut. In its story published online Monday the paper claimed that Future had pulled out of the tour “for good” and had a lawsuit in the works against Drake for lost wages totaling about $1.5 million.

Earlier this week Pollstar tried contacting representatives for Drake and Future for a response. Although we were told “no comment,” the support dates weren’t listed on Future’s website.

Now Atlanta’s Hot 107.9 is reporting that the rappers have mended their differences.

Disc jockey Beestroh says, “Future is back on tour with Drake so everyone can calm down. Little misunderstanding and my reliable sources told me they came to an agreement late last night. Papers are signed, time to get that money once again.”

Responsible agents for the rappers were once again not available for comment Thursday – but the “Would You Like A Tour?” gigs are now included on Future’s site.

The trek begins Oct. 18 at Pittsburgh’s Consol Energy Center. With additional support from Miguel, the tour wraps Dec. 16 in Auburn Hills, Mich., at The Palace Of Auburn Hills.

Update: Future released a statement to Rolling Stone and Vibe confirming that he’s hitting the road with Drake.

“I am set to continue as planned with Drake and Miguel on the ‘Would You Like a Tour?’ tour, slated to begin on October 18th in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I’m looking forward to hitting the road this fall. Love4Life Honest.”

This morning Future tweeted, “Back in Atl getting ready for tour..1st stop Pittsburgh.”
