Future Music Asia Expands
“It will be the biggest music event to ever happen in this part of the region,” claimed Sydney-based director Brett Robinson, predicting a draw of 75,000 to see a bill with Armin Van Buuren who drew 30,000 to his last show in the city.
Also on the bill are Deadmau5, Macklemore & Ryan Lewis, Rudimental, Paul van Dyk and Eric Prydz making his first appearance in Asia.
Robinson was joined at a media conference in Kuala Lumpur by fellow organisers The Mushroom Group and Livescape Asia, as well as Malaysia’s Minister Of Tourism & Culture.
“We have a phenomenal line-up and I don’t think Southeast Asia, let alone Malaysia, has ever witnessed a gathering of musical talents in a single event of this proportion and scale,” Robinson added.
Also on the bill so far were Wu-Tang Clan, Chase & Status, Baauer, Tinie Tempah, Sub Focus, Knife Party and Naughty Boy.
In 2014, the event moves to Mines Wonderland theme park, 20 minutes from Kuala Lumpur’s center and part of the Mines Resort City vicinity.
