Noel Harrison Dies

Noel Harrison, son of famed actor Rex Harrison but who won an Academy Award himself for the song “The Windmills of Your Mind,” has died at 79.

His wife, Lori Chapman, said he sufferend a heart attack after a performance in Devon in southwest England Oct. 19 and later died in a local hospital.

Harrison was an Olympic skier before turning to music, and moved from London to the U.S. as part of the 1960s British Invasion.

“The Windmills of Your Mind,” the theme to the 1968 heist movie “The Thomas Crown Affair,” was also a staple of Top 40 radio.
