According to a committee report produced for the city council, the goal is to “maintain decibel levels at all Waterfront Concerts that provide a positive entertainment experience without unacceptable sound discomfort for residents,” the Bangor Daily News said.

Potential solutions to noise issues reportedly include the installation of a fence, roof or plantings to contain noise at the 15,000-capacity venue, adding new regulations to the city’s existing noise ordinance, determining penalties for performers who violate sound levels and lowering the sound by 10 decibels for one year.

“I think we’ve done the best we could, but we know it’s not going to solve problems for everyone completely,” Sheila Pechinski, who led the committee, told the paper.
