Susan Boyle To Perform at Texas Church
Boyle’s incredible transformation into a household name began when she amazed “Britain’s Got Talent” judges, including Simon Cowell, with her rendition of “I Dreamed A Dream” from “Les Miserables.”
Since then she has sang for Pop Benedict XVI, toured the United Kingdom, performed in Japan, and released four studio albums. Her new release, Home For Christmas, arrives in stores Oct. 29.
Although she appeared in New York City in November 2010 as part of “Christmas At Rockefeller Center” with Maria Carey, Sheryl Crow, Josh Groban, Kylie Minogue and others, Boyle has never appeared solo in the U.S. But that will change come Nov. 17 when she performs during two Sunday morning services at the Lakewood Church in Houston, helmed by pastors Joel and Victoria Osteen. The services are scheduled for 8:30 a.m. and 11 a.m.
What will Boyle’s repertoire include for these special appearances? She is expected to sing three songs, including her decades-spanning duet with Elvis Presley on “O Come, All Ye Faithful” and “Miracle Hymn” from the film “The Christmas Candle.” Both songs are on her Home For Christmas album.
“I am really looking forward to attending and performing at Lakewood,” Boyle said. “This will be the largest audience I have ever performed to in the USA and I am very excited. I’m also looking forward to my first trip to Texas. Many of my Texan fans have travelled around the globe for me so I am excited to be visiting their home state and singing in such a wonderful venue. It is also the first time I perform ‘Miracle Hymn’ and ‘O Come, All Ye Faithful’ to a live audience so it will be a very special moment.”
Boyle’s two performances at Lakewood Church will be streamed live via JoelOsteen.com and will be rebroadcasted on the Daystar Television Network three weeks later. Visit SusanBoyleMusic.com for more information.
