Rowdy fans began rushing the gates when hundreds of people were left standing outside the event after it sold out, according to the Washington Post. Videos posted online show people climbing over walls to get inside the show.

Tickets for Yardfest, which is typically free, were $5 this year and capacity was reportedly capped at 14,000.

A spokeswoman for the university told the paper authorities had not enforced limits on crowd size in previous years.

The concert was delayed while the injured were taken to nearby hospitals and treated for minor injuries, the Post said.

Acts slated to play Yardfest included Big Sean, Juicy J, Bone Thugs-n-Harmony, A$AP Ferg, and Gyptian.
