Foo Fighters Say Hola To Mexico City

Looks like the Foo Fighters’ hiatus is over. The band is heading down south in December to play Mexico City, marking its first ever show ever in the country. Presale tickets went on sale today and the general public onsale is scheduled later this week.

“Hey Mexico, are you ready?” frontman Dave Grohl asked in a 10 second clip posted on YouTube. “Because the Foo Fighters are coming soon for the first time. And I can’t f**king wait!”

Last October Grohl put out a statement saying, “I’m not sure when the Foo Fighters are going to play again. It feels strange to say that, but it’s a good thing for all of us to go away for a while.”

Well, now we can tell exactly when the band will take the stage again. The Mexico City show will take place Dec. 13 at Foro Sol, with The National as the Foo’s special guest.

Foo Fighters is asking fans to vote for which deep cut the band should perform in Mexico City, promising that the “winning song will totally be played.” The poll includes “My Poor Brain,” “Weenie Beenie” and “Summer’s End.”

There’s another poll asking which cover the band should play, from Wings’ “Band On The Run” to Arcade Fire’s “Keep The Car Running.”

Tickets go on sale to the public Nov. 1.
