The accident comes just three days after OSHA officials announced plans to cite the company and another venue in the death of a performer.

Cirque du Soleil said the unidentified male artist fell from one of two spinning wheels during the “Wheel of Death” act during a 7 p.m. performance.

The act features two people who perform high-risk feats atop and inside a pair of spinning wheels rotating high above the stage, including rope skipping and jumps.

The company says the show was halted and the performer taken to a Las Vegas hospital where he was in stable condition and expected to be discharged in the next few days.

The accident occurred four months after a Cirque acrobat died in a fall during a performance of the show “Ka” at the MGM Grand in las Vegas, and three days after OSHA announced it would cite Cirque and the hotel/casino in the June 29 death of Sarah Guillot-Guyard.
