Lollapalooza Announces Chile & Argentina Lineups

Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, Nine Inch Nails, Pixies, Phoenix and Vampire Weekend are just some of the acts making the trek to South America for Lollapalooza Chile and Argentina’s very first Lolla extravaganza.

Chile’s fourth Lollapalooza takes place March 29-30 in Santiago at O’Higgins Park.  The festival then heads to Argentina where it will take over Buenos Aires’ Hipodromo de San Isidro April 1-2.

There’s some crossover on each city’s lineup.  Acts playing both cities include Red Hot Chili Peppers, Arcade Fire, Soundgarden, Nine Inch Nails, Pixies, Phoenix, Vampire Weekend , and Imagine Dragons,  Axwell, The Bloody Beetroots, Wolfgang Gartner, Flux Pavilion and others.

Of course there will be several bands unique to each country.  That means Chilean artists Francisca Valenzuela, Joe Vasconcellos, Ana Tijoux, Nicole, LucyBell and Upa! are playing Santiago.  Argentine music makers Illya Kuryaki & The Valderramas, Juana Molina, Onda Vaga, and El Mato a un Policia Motorizado will appear in Buenos Aires.

If you’re wondering about the lineup for Lollapalooza Brazil, which will take place at the Interlagos Race Track in Sao Paulo April 5-6,  all will be revealed Nov. 11 with presales launching Nov. 18.

“Our perennial trip through South America has become one of the most anticipated times of the year for my family and our extended family (of musicians),” Lollapalooza founder Perry Farrell said.  “I have also been inviting every delightful new acquaintance to join us.  They will find it to be an epic journey as well.”
