Janelle Monáe Postponements

Janelle Monáe postpones three shows scheduled for this week after her doctor orders “mandatory vocal rest” for the singer. Gigs planned for Anaheim, San Diego and Phoenix are expected to be rescheduled.

Monáe announced the bad news on her website yesterday. The postponements include last night’s show scheduled at Anaheim’s House Of Blues, tonight’s performance at House Of Blues in San Diego and tomorrow night’s concert in Phoenix at The Crescent Ballroom.

In her posting Monáe said the postponements leave her “heartsick and shaken” because she “lives for” moments when she’s “connecting with you and giving you a one of a kind concert experience.”

“But alas, apparently even the most expertly designed android breaks down sometimes and must recharge …,” Monáe wrote.
