Yet Another Billy Joel Gig

If venues keep on announcing his concerts one date at a time it won’t be long until Billy Joel has a full-fledged tour on his hands. Today Tampa joins the short list, becoming the third city hosting the Piano Man in 2014.

Up until today Joel had only two U.S. shows on the books – Brooklyn, N.Y., at the Barclays Center New Year’s Eve and Sunrise, Fla., at the BB&T Center Jan. 7.

Now you can add the Tampa Bay Times Forum in lovely Tampa, Fla., to the list. Joel will play the building Jan. 17.

The venue announced the show today.

“We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Billy Joel back to Tampa Bay!” VP of event booking Elmer Straub said. “The Tampa Bay Times Forum will be electric on January 17, 2014 when this music icon hits the stage!”

Tickets for Joel at the Tampa Bay Times Forum go on sale Nov. 15.

Which venue will make the next Billy Joel announcement? Execs from Florida’s Jacksonville Veterans Memorial Arena are scheduled to make a “major concert announcement” Nov. 7 at 10:30 a.m. EST. Just saying.
