SD Macy’s Float To Feature Joan Jett
Joan Jett and the Blackhearts will appear on the Mount Rushmore American Pride float at this year’s Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade.
South Dakota Tourism Secretary Jim Hagen says Jett is a rock legend, especially among the generation of visitors South Dakota is looking to attract. Jett is best known for the classic song, “I Love Rock ‘n’ Roll.”

This will be the fourth year South Dakota’s Department of Tourism will have a float in the New York City parade. Neil Diamond appeared on the float in 2011, and Don McLean, singer of “American Pie,” appeared in 2012.
