LA Approves Farmers Field Designs

Plans for a downtown Los Angeles football stadium are still in the works with news the city’s Cultural Affairs Commission has approved architectural submissions for Farmers Field.

The commission also recently approved the final design for renovations to the adjacent Los Angeles Convention Center, which AEG won the rights to operate earlier this year.

The votes mean the design for the complete project will advance while the city and AEG continue efforts to secure an NFL franchise to call the stadium home.

“The Cultural Affairs Commission’s approval is the culmination of an extensive collaborative process between AEG and the City of Los Angeles on the design of the new hall,” AEG Vice Chairman Ted Fikre said in a statement. “This is another important milestone in our continued efforts to move this project forward; to modernize and increase productivity of the Los Angeles Convention Center and bring the NFL back to Los Angeles.”
