Patty Griffin Goes To College
Griffin recently released two albums. American Kid is her first album of mostly new material since 2007’s Children Running Through. Since then she released the Grammy-winning Downtown Church and toured with Robert Plant as part of his Band Of Joy group.
The other long-player released this year is considered Griffin’s “lost” album. Silver Bell was recorded in 2000 but was never released because of corporate changes at A&M Records. Although it sat in the vault for much of the past 13 years, the album provided two hits for the Dixie Chicks – “Top Of The World” and “Truth #2.” Both songs were included on the Chicks’ 2002 Home album.
