The Jim Jones Revue Returns To U.S.

It’s been too long since Britain’s frenetic Jim Jones Revue rocked these shores.  The band returns to North America after a two-year absence when it plays New Year’s Eve in NYC and launches a tour in January.

Jim Jones and his garage-rock comrades are supporting their third studio album, The Savage Heart.  Helmed by producer Jim Sclavunos (Grinderman / Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds), the long-player was recorded with “spiritual guidance from the legendary Nick Lowe.”

But regardless of who was behind the controls, The Savage Heart delivers more of Jones & Company chaotically rocking the roof off of the joint and is loud enough to make strong men weep and older men reach for their heart meds.

The Jim Jones Revue plays New York City’s Bowery Electric New Year’s Eve.  Nine days later the band will go a clubbin’ with a tour covering nightspots in Philadelphia, Cleveland, Toronto, Boston and other markets where people can appreciate wailing vocals, machine-gun drumming and killer piano licks.

“While the group look back into the roots of rock ’n’ roll, we’ve never gone backwards in what we do,” Jim Jones said.  “It’s always about pushing things forward for us.”
