Journey + Steve Miller Band = Co-Headlining Fun

The Journey and Steve Miller Band co-headline tour is sure to be an in-demand ticket for summer 2014.  As if those two groups won’t be enough to fill seats, Tower Of Power will be the special guest.  Ticket sales begin next week.

Probably the biggest task for either band will be deciding which songs will not make the evening’s setlist.  With tunes such as “Wheel In The Sky,” “Lovin’, Touchin’, Squeezin’,” “Open Arms” and Don’t Stop Believin’,” Journey could easily play for two hours without touching on all of the band’s hits.  Ditto Steve Miller Band with that wonderful catalog that includes “The Joker,” “Living In The U.S.A.,” “Fly Like An Eagle” and “Abracadabra.”

Speaking of “The Joker” this year marked the 40th anniversary of the release of the single and album.

When you look at the numbers you have Journey with more than 80 million albums sold worldwide and Steve Miller Band’s 30 million-plus sold.  How can fans not buy tickets to a stop on this tour?

Well, there’s that old concert devil known as scheduling conflicts.  Maybe that’s why Live Nation released the specs on this tour so early.  This way, folks can lock in their own concert date and schedule other summertime activities such as barbecues, vacations and weddings around the Journey / Steve Miller Band tour.

“I can’t think of a better way for the Joker to celebrate his 40th and the Steve Miller Band to enjoy next summer than playing all our hits for all of our fans as we tour the entire USA with our brother San Francisco bands, Journey and the Tower Of Power,” Steve Miller said.  “This is going to be a not to be missed trifecta of the best of soul, greatest hits and arena rock by three of the greatest bands to come out of San Francisco, clearly a once in a lifetime event. We can’t wait to get started!”
