Billy Joel Adds More MSG Shows

Well, that didn’t take long. Following Tuesday’s announcement that Billy Joel would return to Madison Square Garden in January, the NYC venue has booked additional gigs with the Piano Man in February and March because of “overwhelming demand.”

As we pointed out yesterday, the last time Joel headlined The Garden was in 2006 when his sold-out 12-night residency broke the record for the venue’s “longest run of a single artist.”

Along with the Jan. 27 show at MSG, Joel is now playing the venue Feb. 3 and March 21.

Previously announced 2014 dates include a few gigs in Florida: Jan. 7 & 11 in Sunrise, Jan. 17 in Tampa and Jan. 22 in Jacksonville.

Could even more dates be coming soon? Guess we’ll find out soon enough!

Joel is certainly due for a North American tour. Before his 2009-2010 “Face to Face” co-headline tour with Elton John, Joel’s last full-fledged headline trek took place in 2008.

Citi cardmembers presales for the MSG shows are ongoing now through Nov. 22. Tickets go on sale to the public Nov. 23 at 10 a.m. EST.
