The “Bullet” video was directed by Andy Knowles, who has helmed vids for The Cribs, The Vaccines, Clinic and Peaches.

Turns out Knowles’ connection with Franz Ferdinand goes back to the band’s early days.

“I’ve worked with the band in one way or another since their first gig, back in 2002, which was in my ex-girlfriend’s bedroom,” Knowles said.

“I wanted to capture a stripped back, honest performance and I think having a good relationship with the guys helped achieve this. The ‘bulletime’ effect was added to really draw out little moments that every fan will recognize as signature Franz live performance tics.  The song is so fast, it demanded an equally dizzy editing style to really capture the energy.”

The North American journey follows the band’s early 2014 Euro tour run and is mostly focused on the West Coast although a couple of landlocked states are in the mix.  Here’s the tour:

April 21 – Englewood, Colo., Gothic Theatre
April 23 – Boise, Idaho, Knitting Factory Concert House
April 24 – Seattle, Wash., Showbox SoDo
April 25 – Vancouver, B.C., Commodore Ballroom
April 26 – Portland, Ore., Roseland Theater
April 29 – Los Angeles, Calif., The Wiltern

Tickets go on sale Nov. 22.  Head over to FranzFerdinand.com for more info.
