NY Dolls Estate Battle

The children of late New York Dolls guitarist Johnny Thunders are headed to court over his estate, which grew from a paltry $4,000 to hundreds of thousands during the ’90s.

Thunders, whose real name was John Genzale, died in 1991 and his sister Mariann Bracken was appointed administrator of the tiny estate at that time, according to court documents obtained by the New York Post.

Bracken must have been a financial wiz, as she apparently turned the inheritance into at least several hundred thousand dollars, creating “significant income” for Thunders’ descendants each year until Bracken died in 2009.

Thunders’ daughter, Jamie Michelle Susanne Genzale, who was born following a romance with a Swedish groupie and lives in Stockholm, was expected to take over as administrator of the estate’s remaining $160,000.

But his sons, Vito and Dino Genzale, have taken legal action to block her from controlling the estate, the documents note.

The brothers – who have a different mother – have done time for charges ranging from drug dealing to robbery, theft, indecent exposure and assault, according to the Post, and have hired a private investigator to find their mom.

Jamie Genzale’s attorney is reportedly working on a settlement that would allow Dino to share executor responsibilities for the estate, the paper said. A hearing has been set for January.
