A Great Big World In 2014

A lot is happening for Ian Axel and Chad Vaccarino, the two artists who make up A Great Big World.  The duo will support Maroon 5 at the end of this year and will embark on their own headlining tour beginning in January.  Then there’s that Victoria’s Secret performance everybody is watching.

It’s been a good year for A Great Big World.  Their recording of their song “Say Something” which also featured the vocal talents of Christina Aguilera was officially certified gold by the RIAA.

A Great Big World has also been selected by VH1 as its next “You Oughta Know Artist,” an honor whose recipients include Bruno Marks, Ed Sheeran, Lorde and The Lumineers.  That means they will be the subject of a month-long TV, web, mobile and social awareness campaign that should definitely boost the group’s profile.

You can also snag some instant satisfaction from A Great Big World.  Order the band’s debut long-player Is There Anybody Out There? and you’ll get a download of “I Really Want It.”  Other instant downloads available with pre-ordering include “Say Something” with Ms. Aguilera and “This Is The New Year.” Is There Anybody Out There? drops Jan. 14 via Black Magnetic / Epic Records.

And, as if A Great Big World hadn’t already received enough exposure this year, the group performed on “Victoria’s Secret Fashion Show” which aired Dec. 10 on CBS.

A Great Big World still has a few 2013 shows to play, including an appearance on the “Alice 105.9 Alice in Winterland” radio holiday show in Denver at the Summit Music Hall Dec. 12 and a stop at Dallas’ House Of Blues Dec. 16.  In three weeks Axel and Vaccarino will close out 2013 in style by playing two gigs in support of Maroon 5 at the Mandalay Bay Events Center Dec. 30-31.
