Bar Owner Charged In Shooting Death
Ferrell told police he shot Jerald “Wayne” Mills in self-defense after getting into an argument about Mills smoking inside the venue.
Ferrell surrendered himself to police after learning he had been indicted on a charge of second-degree murder, his attorney told the Tennessean.
Ferrell’s bond was set at $300,000.
The bar owner has had recent charges of domestic assault, interfering with an emergency call and vandalism stemming from an alleged fight with a former girlfriend, the paper said.
The assault and interfering charges were later dismissed; the vandalism charge was bound over to the grand jury.
