It’s also announced a number of initiatives and planned upgrades at the LACC to mark the occasion.

Brad Gessner becomes Senior VP and GM of the building, as announced by AEG Facilities President Bob Newman.

Joining Gessner is a “Senior Leadership Team” consisting of VP of Finance Keith Hilsgen, VP of Sales and Marketing Ellen Schwartz, VP of Operations Greg Rosicky, VP of Event Services Carisa Malanum, security director Ruben Lechuga and human resources director Angela Baker.

Gessner retains his position of AEG Facilities’ VP of Convention Center, and takes on day-to-day oversight of LACC operations, including booking.

Prior to coming to AEG, he served six years as GM of the San Diego Convention Center.

Management of the city-owned facility adjacent to Staples Center and L.A. Live was awarded by the City of Los Angeles in October, and completed a 70-day transition period before the keys were officially turned over.
