The xx Announces NYC Residency

The xx are expecting a pretty small turnout for the band’s New York residency shows. In fact, it’s guaranteed the audience will be teeny. After playing two nights at Radio City Music Hall in September, the band is downsizing to a series of shows limited to 40 people per gig.

The English indie pop band had such a good time playing multiple, intimate shows a night at the Manchester International Festival this summer that it’s going to bring a similar setup to the Big Apple in March.

The plan is to play 25 shows in 11 days at NYC’s The Armory. The March 19-29 residency will feature two shows per night during the week and three gigs each evening during the weekend shows March 22-23 and March 29.

The residency is being put on with public support by the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the NYC Council, as well as support from Burberry.
