Coney Island Shed Approved

Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz’s legacy has been sealed with a recent vote to approve the construction of the Seaside Park and Community Arts Center in Coney Island, N.Y.

The project will include the construction of a 5,000-seat amphitheater that Markowitz has been pushing for years to host the annual Seaside Summer Concert Series.

The vote couldn’t have come a minute too soon; Markowitz is set to vacate office Dec. 31 after serving as borough president for 12 years.
