Odds & Ends: Lady Gaga, ShipRocked, Barclays’ Barbershop
Lady Gaga poured her heart out to fans in a post on her LittleMonsters.com website Sunday as she explained why the video for “Do What U Want” is late.
The pop star noted she only had a week to plan and put together the vid, which devastated her.
“All … my most successful videos were planned over a period of time when I was rested and my creativity was honored,” Gaga wrote. “Those who have betrayed me gravely mismanaged my time and health and left me on my own to damage control any problems that ensued as a result. Millions of dollars are not enough for some people. They want billions. Then they need trillions. I was not enough for some people. They wanted more.”
Gaga added that after she hip surgery last year, she was too sick, tired and sad to control the damage on her own. On the bright side, she’s no longer working with the greedy folks who let her down. Rolling Stone points out that although she doesn’t name names in Sunday’s post, she recently split with former manager Troy Carter. Gaga and Carter parted ways days before she released ARTPOP in November, reportedly over “creative differences.”
“The next few months of ARTPOP will truly be its beginning,” Gaga wrote. “Because those who did not care about ARTPOP’s success are now gone, and the dreams I have been planning can now come to fruition. Please forgive me that I did not foresee this coming, I never thought after all the years of hard work that those I called friends and partners would ever care so little at a time I needed them the most.”
