Flames light up the sky above the 10,000-capacity Fifth Third Ballpark at Comstock, Mich., when fire breaks out in the suite area of the facility Jan. 3.

Fire officials are investigating what caused the blaze at the 10,000-capacity facility, home to the Detroit Tigers’ minor league affiliate West Michigan Whitecaps.

A few employees were reportedly inside ballpark offices when the blaze started in one of the suites.

No injuries were reported.

The damaged suites are situated from home plate down the first base line.

A space heater used by employees earlier in the day may be to blame for starting the inferno. The investigation is ongoing.
