Scruggs Center Opens
The Earl Scruggs Center in Shelby, N.C., had its grand opening Jan. 11, despite rains that forced the festivities inside a church sanctuary across the street.

The day was capped with a tribute, “Remembering Earl: Music & Stories” including Vince Gill, Travis Tritt, Bush, and Scruggs’ sons Gary and Randy Scruggs, among others. The $6.5 million museum honors Scruggs, who was a Cleveland County native and banjo master.
