Frobo LLC, which reportedly has ties to The Bowery Presents’ Jim Glancy, is looking to build a 2,000-capacity room dubbed the Brooklyn Classic in a building that currently houses a steel fabrication shop in the East Williamsburg neighborhood.

The company has applied for a liquor license application with the local board, according to the New York Daily News, though no one appears to be talking about the venue just yet.

“We have been fortunate with the relationships we have forged and look forward to becoming a part of the fabric of a new community,” Frobo said in a statement. “While it is too early to comment on a new venue, The Bowery Presents’ goal is always to bring great music artists to new audiences.”

The building owner also remained mum on the venue, telling the Daily News, “I really don’t know that much about it.”
