Todd Rundgren’s West Coast Retreat
Located on California’s Central Coast, Rundren’s
Apparently Rundgren didn’t have to spend a lot of time getting the word out about his retreat. After posting an early notice on the event’s website, the Mythical Retreat quickly sold 80 percent of its capacity.
Here’s what he wrote:
“As the pioneers made their way inexorably westward in search of new lands and adventures, so the Rundgren Nation must explore the nether regions of this vast continent.
“Thus we encamp this August for our first Mythic Pacific Retreat at the Cambria Pines Lodge on the Middle Coast of California.
“Our agenda is still in development, but do not hesitate to explore the site of our destination – www.MythicPacificRetreat.com – and consider joining us for what is sure to be an historic event.”
The music maker signed off with “Eureka” followed by “Todd ‘Sunshine’ Rundgren.”
Coming up a bit sooner for “Sunshine” is the 29th annual Technical Excellence & Creative Awards, which is presenting Rundgren with the Les Paul Award. Honoring those who have contributed to the advancement of professional audio technology and production, the award will be given to Rundgren Jan. 24 at Southern California’s Anaheim Hilton during the 2014 NAMM show. Rundgren will be joined by Jesse Gress and Prairie Prince for a short performance. You can watch the action via an Internet stream coming to you from the NAMM website.
The same day Rundgren receives the Less Paul Award, he will announce details of The Spirit Of Harmony Foundation, a charity created to help with music education at schools. You can also watch this via an Internet stream. Just click here for details.
