Goo Goo Dolls Coming To You

Following a short run of U.S. dates in December and a few gigs in late January/early February, Goo Goo Dolls has lined up another set of dates through the States. The April excursion is an acoustic tour the band is calling “The Otis Midnight Sessions.”

The outing, which will include more intimate venues than the band usually plays, is described as a “Story Tellers” format that will feature some deep tracks from the Goos’ extensive catalog that spans nearly 30 years.

John Rzenik & Co. put out their 10th studio album in 2013. Magnetic debuted at No. 8 on the Nielson SoundScan chart. After nearly three decades and 14 Top 10 radio hits, the rockers still know how to write a great single. According to an announcement from the band, “Come To Me” is “shaping up to be the fastest-growing single in the Goos’ history.”

The Goo Goo Dolls are taking part in “The Super Bowl Kickoff Spectacular” Jan. 27. The free, ticketed event, which also features Daughtry, takes place along the Hudson River at Liberty State Park in Jersey City, N.J.

A few days later the Goos headline “VH1’s Super Bowl Blitz: Six Nights + Six Concerts” at the St. George Theatre in Staten Island, N.Y., Jan. 31. Tune in to VH1 to see the show air live. The gig will be streamed in the VH1 app in addition to being available on-demand in the app and at SuperBowlVH1.com on Feb. 1.
