Soulja Boy Arrested On Concealed Weapon Charge
Los Angeles police say they have arrested rapper Soulja Boy on suspicion of carrying a concealed weapon when he and another man were stopped for a traffic violation.
Police spokesman Richard French says the 23-year-old rapper, whose real name is DeAndre Cortez Way, was a passenger in the vehicle when it was pulled around 4 a.m. in the Granada Hills neighborhood.
French said he did not have any information on the type of firearm that officers found.
Way was booked and released on $35,000 and ordered to appear in court on Feb. 20. His arrest was first reported by the celebrity website TMZ.
